Our camp story

We are a collective of architects, builders and creatives, passionate about good design for the great outdoors. Our goal is to connect as many people to the outdoors as possible. Bivvi began in 2019 in the Pacific Northwest when two friends sought out to build a wilderness retreat inspired by the backcountry huts, fire towers, and yurts throughout the Northwestern United States. Since our founding in 2019 our company has gone on to design and build our sustainable high quality cabins for customers all over the United States. Our design and manufacturing headquarters is located in beautiful Sisters Oregon.

A little bit about our name “Bivvi”

The name Bivvi is derived from the word “bivouac,” a small shelter that can be easily packed and deployed in the wilderness. Each cabin and structure we make embodies this idea of compact, functional and purpose built design.

Our pledge to people and the land and it’s people

As a company we embody responsible land development by not only creating low impact prefabricated structures but we also work with landowners to develop environmentally sustainable methods of site planning. We respect indigenous land and always encourage ecologically conscious methods of planning as part of our core business practice.

Meet our Camp

  • Dylan Woock

    Co-Founder, CEO, Design Lead

Dylan Woock grew up in the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon, running through the sagebrush exploring the many wonders of the High Desert and its intricate beauty. He attended the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts in Eugene Oregon, where he was able to work and travel in Canada and Germany while earning his BArch. While in Eugene Dylan discovered a passion for sustainable design practices and sought to study how designers could integrate fundamental knowledge from the land, people and culture into architecture to make better buildings and design.

  • Kyle Robeson

    Co-Owner, Build Lead

Kyle Robeson grew up in Redmond Oregon before enrolling at Oregon State University where he turned his passion for all things outdoors into a BS in Biology. Upon graduating Kyle and his now wife Mallory explored the Western United States and Europe before ultimately settling back in Redmond to start a family. Prior to becoming a partner at Bivvi, Kyle spent 7 years working in residential remodeling and construction, leading a team on a myriad of projects across the High Desert. Kyle brings an innate knowledge to his build process, balancing his professional experience with an intuitive understanding of how things go together.
